If you're looking for an epic road trip this fall, look no further than America's national parks! There are dozens of beautiful parks to choose from, but we've narrowed it down to three of our favorites (in no particular order) to visit through the fall and winter seasons. Each of these parks offers something unique and exciting, so you're sure to have a blast visiting any one of them, or all them! Plus, what could be better than spending the fall and winter months exploring some of the most stunning landscapes in the country?

Yellowstone National Park
The first national park on our list is comes as no surprise. This park is located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Yellowstone is home to a variety of different landscapes, including forests, mountains, and geysers. It's also home to some of the most beautiful wildlife in the world, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for bison, elk, and bears! If you're looking for a truly unforgettable experience, we recommend visiting Yellowstone during the winter months. The snow-capped mountains and frozen lakes are something out of a postcard, and you'll definitely want to take advantage of the opportunity to see bucket list attractions such as Old Faithful.

Zion National Park
Being located in southern Utah, Zion is is much shorter drive from Los Angeles than Yellowstone but is certainly not short in attractions. This park is famous for its red rock formations and canyons, which are truly breathtaking to behold. Zion is also a great place to hike, bike, and camp.
If you're feeling adventurous, we recommend taking a hike through one of the park's many slot canyons. Just be sure to wear appropriate clothing as the temperatures can range from highs of 50-60°F during the day to lows well below freezing at night.
Feeling daring? Take on one of Americas most famous hikes, Angels Landing for an incredible experience you wont soon forget. Forewarning, this hike is not for the faint of heart. Please make sure you do your research so you're fully prepared for what's to come. That said, If you do decide to make the trek you'll be handsomely rewarded for your efforts. :)
Grand Canyon National Park
Ahhh, last but not least. The mighty Grand Canyon is location in the northwest corner of Arizona, close to the borders of Utah and Nevada. Smaller crowds and mild temperatures make visiting the park during fall and winter the most enjoyable time to visit.
The Grand Canyon is one of the most iconic national parks in the country, and it's easy to see why. The views from the rim of the canyon are absolutely incredible, and there are plenty of different trails to explore.
If you're feeling really adventurous, you can even hike to the bottom of the canyon! Just remember, hiking to the bottom and back all in a day can be hard and potentially dangerous due to the dramatic elevation change of nearly 7,000 ft. While not common, this can can lead to altitude sickness, shortness of breath, fatigue, and even nausea. Know your limits and be sure to bring plenty of water and food, as there is no shade or shelter once you start hiking down.
